Durham trolley token

Durham trolley token

I found this token while digging in my backyard garden on 810 Berkeley St. The area contained broken pottery, glass, and trash, but this was the real find. Coin reads: “good for one fare”, “Durham Public Service Co.”

  3. oh right. i read berkeley and thought otherwise.

cool–i wonder where the trolleys ran. probably through downtown.

  4. there was also a loop that went north on Broad St then turned west on Club Blvd, and back. it was the first transit oriented suburb of Durham.
